Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon, Utah

Just came back from another photographic adventure. This time to Utah. We drove to Hurricane Utah and visited Bryce Canyon and Zion National Park. Both were absolutely beautiful. Here are some pictures from Bryce.....at Bryce we stopped at all of the places you can pull off and you had to get out to really see the beauty of all of the crimson colored hoodoos which are spire-shaped rock formations.
This was our first glimpse and an impressive entrance.
This blackbird did not seem to be put off by people. This one and 2 of his buddies showed up, looking for food I presume and some people were taking selfied with them!
As you can see the views are spectacular, and at those elevations, you can see forever!
The entire ride was magical. Going to Bryce we took a winding road with many switchbacks. Going back to the hotel we decided to take a more well traveled road, since it was getting dark and we were unfamiliar with the area. Low and behold, it was an adventure all in itself. We got lost, and a car was flashing it's lights at us. We did not know what that meant......in the east coast is usually means Law enforcement is nearby with radar, but apparently in Utah, it means, I killed a deer and it is in the middle of the road. Well needless to say, where the car was that was flashing it's lights, was at a very steep turn in the road and I was already running over the deer when I saw it. There were three cars behind me and they all must have run over the deer as well. I am claiming I just hit her nose and tail. That's my story I am sticking with it.

The next day we headed to Zion National Park. Zion was closer to the hotel and much easier to get too. Lots of great hiking trails. Several scenic road trips and they have a shuttle that takes you through the central part of the park. Since we had Ruby with us, we did not think taking her on and off of a shuttle bus so that we could take pictures was a great idea, so we opted for a scenic drive.

As I was standing taking pictures, this little guy came up to nibble on the bushes. I didn't even see him at first and then a bunch of his friends came and joined him for some snacking. They didn't mind me taking their pictures at all!
Again the views were beautiful, everywhere you looked.
Hope you enjoyed a little taste of our Utah adventure.

Until next time....

Happy Photography! :-)
