Antelope Canyon, Page AZ

I will try not to bore you with too many pictures, but we just returned from one of the most beautiful places we have ever been. We drove to Page AZ on Sunday, settled in, got some dinner, enjoyed a movie or 3 and got some much needed z's.

Monday I had booked a tour to hike Lower Antelope Slots Canyon. The slots canyons are formed by wind and rain over millions of years and depending on what time of the year you are there, and where the sun is determines the colors and if you will see light beams or not. We were a little too late in the season for the beams but it was incredibly beautiful.

Here we go

The other woman in the pictures is Brenda, she was going to use her phone for pictures but it died when she got there, so I told her to give me her email address and I would send her the pictures I took, it made it a fun day.

Tuesday we all took a boat tour on Lake Powell into Utah to Rainbow Bridge, which is a national monument. Ruby stayed on the boat with the captain, at 93 she was the oldest person to ever take the tour. Alvin and I hiked to see the bridge.

On the way back they pointed out some interesting formations. Do you see the heart and the buffalo?

Next was the hike to Horseshoe Bend.

The last tour I took was with Horseshoe Bend Tours, they are a Navajo Family owned tour company that takes you to "Secret" slots canyon on their land. Chance, our guide told wonderful stories about growing up in the area and having this huge expanse of land as his playground. The jeep ride was as adventurous as Disneyland!!!

On the way back Chance took us to see the Hogan and a small smoke house that his family built. It was very special, an exceptional tour.

Here's just a few more before we headed back to Phoenix.

It was an amazing trip. We took our time and stayed Sunday through Thursday to not tax Ruby too much.

Words cannot describe the beauty of the things we saw. If you ever get the chance to go there, I would highly recommend it.

Until next time,

Happy Photography!!! <3
