Creative by nature

I have always been inspired to create things. Part of this is genetic I think, since my Mother was always making things for the holidays. The fall and Christmas were especially creative times around our house growing up. We made candy wreaths and pinecone wreaths, pinecone people, tree decorations, and an abundance of tasty treats like, cookies, fudge, applesauce and pies. As time went on, I dabbled in various art forms, and ended up majoring in Art in college. Whenever I went for a period of time without creating something with my hands, I felt empty, and would have to fill the void by making something. I guess I never grew out of it, as I still look for ways to continually create things to enhance my surroundings. Alvin jokes that if we do not have plans for vacations, I will build an addition on the house. I think there is a saying about idle hands, and maybe that applies to me.

I was fortunate to find another creative soul to spend my life with, in my husband. He would probably not use creative as one of the top adjectives to describe himself, but he really is. He has always had a love of photography and has a very artistic eye. He would spend hours putting together just the right combinations of colors for matting and framing the art in his house, and he is very appreciative of the beauty in our surroundings. He puts a lot of his creative talents to use in the kitchen. He is a fabulous cook.

So together, we make a pretty good creative team. Most recently we have spent more time on our photography which we are sharing with you here. The hope and plan is to have a website to further display our work and provide it to those of you who have a desire to enhance your surrounds with the labors of our love.

With that said, enjoy the view, take a glance at our journey, comment when you feel the urge and welcome to a little of what makes us tick.

Happy photography,

Gillette and Alvin
